Why there is "Electromagnetism" and why not "Magnetoelectricity" ?

A guess:

Both are mutually dependent, may be the easiness of spelling out ?

Hi,

Welcome to the quiz corner....

I am not aware about your interests in electromagnetic field theory. But i feel that you are really interested in it. aren't u ???

OK here is the answer :

Magnetism is a relativistic phenomenon of Electricity.

In other words, magnetic phenomenon or effect can only happen only when there is movement of electric charge (electrically charged particle). So you see it needs a circuit to complete. This any material with conductivity (conductors) actually propagate magnetic field relative to electric field. That is why the theoretical subject dealing with this is called as ELECTROMAGNETISM and not the other way around.

You would also have known that electromagnetic waves propagate in radial directions, and have mutually transverse(perpendicular) electric and magnetic fields at all instances of time and space.

Feel free to discuss more about doubts you may have regarding this.
