FAQ

  1. Software Defined Radio Transceiver?

Yes! This is an amateur radio transceiver that operates on all the HF amateur bands. It is a software defined radio, meaning that it uses a computer to control the radio, to demodulate the signals received, and to modulate the signal transmitted. The computer control and signals in and out go through the USB connection, the antenna connects to the hardware, the microphone and headphones/speakers are connected to the computer, and a morse key or iambic paddle to the hardware for sending Morse code.

Hi,

Since we are using 1206 package for all resistors and capacitors, any normal soldering Iron will do.
I used regular Soldron 25W for my SDR

You may feel little difficult for 2-3 components initially but you will get adopted for next components.

When coming to ICs except Psoc, all ICs are "SO" package. Soldering then is also as easy as resisters and capacitors.

Some care is to be taken while soldering PSoc. But with little patience, it is also not much difficult.

Use good quality and thin gauge lead for soldering.
Any soldering with Point tip is ok.

I cannot attend a seminar. How may I obtain a Multiband SDR transceiver kit that I can build?

I have successfully constructed several kits using surface mount devices.

Dear Mans and Paul,

Thanks for your interest in ZAZ SDR aka Vuberry SDR. As it seems a lot of interest is coming for having kits, We feel that Dr Naidu will surely find a solution for that, probably after Hamfest India 2014 on November. Personally, he is a busy Medical Doctor and is the HOD at his college.

Will keep updating the same!
